Bentley is known for creating some of the most expensive and luxurious cars in the world, rivaling other car producers like Rolls Royce and Bugatti. This is a reputation that has been well-earned through decades of quality production and vehicles that are more than just a chassis for driving in — these vehicles are experiences in and of themselves.
Now, as the auto world continues to become more and more competitive due to companies like Tesla that are looking to disrupt the status quo, Bentley is stepping up its game and treading into unknown territory; it is releasing a luxury SUV.
When it goes on sale early next year, the Bentley Bentayga is officially going to be the most expensive SUV on the market. It will be clocking in at a casual $229,100 for the simplest version and one can only expect the price to increase when you start adding amenities and other options and packages. Up until the announcing of this car, the most expensive SUVs on the market have been the Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG (which costs $218,000) and the Land Rover Range Rover SV Autobiography (which is only $200,000). That being said, even the Bentley SUV isn’t going to be the most expensive SUV on the market. Already, other luxury car companies have announced similarly priced offerings such as the Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX and Maserati Levante. There is also news that Rolls Royce is developing an SUV that will eventually cost in the range of $400,000.
However, until this happens the Bentley Bentayga is reigning supreme both in terms of price as well as in terms of quality of vehicle. It is going to be the fastest SUV available with a top speed of 187 mph and can go from 0-60 in only 4 seconds. It is also going to be released in both hybrid and diesel versions in the future, adding a sense of environmental efficiency to the vehicle’s image (something SUVs have struggled with for years). With added luxuries like leather front seats that have 22-way electric adjustments and can massage and ventilate, the Bentayga is going to change the way SUVs are perceived across the world.
